Don’t let deadlines pass you by. We’ve got everything you need to prepare for a smooth and stress-free tax season, including resources, tax forms, and envelopes.

Reese’s Cups (or Pieces, if you’re feeling saucy)

A classic with a classic. The W2 is as much a staple for tax season as the Reese’s Cup is to Halloween: “A W-2 formis the document an employer is required to send to each of their employees and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at the end of the year. The W-2 form reports the employee's annual wages and the amount of taxes withheld from his or her paychecks.”

There’s always at least a half-dozen houses that give out Reese’s to trick-or-treaters, and these are the people you want to befriend. Much like companies who get their W2s out well before the deadline.

    Bit O’ Honey

More like Bit o’ Money, amirite?! This form is a “summary tax report, which shows the totals from 1099 forms and must be submitted to the IRS along with these returns.”

Basically, this form is how employers let the IRS know how much they’ve paid their contractors that year. … It’s a bland form and because of that, it gets a bland candy. A bland candy that cements your molars together.

      Dots

These tax form envelopes are designed to perfectly fit your computer-printed 1099 MISC forms from QuickBooks or similar accounting software and provide complete security while lining up with the pre-printed addresses on your forms.

We’ve paired our 1099 envelopes with Dots because much like Dots, the envelopes alone aren’t to get the job done. But, much like Dots, without them the experience would be incomplete. I mean, imagine getting an entire bucket of Dots for Halloween – hard pass. But finding a few precious boxes of these chewy little gems nestled amidst your chocolate bars and FunDips? Victory.

        Kit Kats

Kit Kats are the uncontested workhorse of Halloween chocolate (with Milky Ways coming in a close second) and, similarly, 1099 MISC forms are the workhorses of contractor tax forms. “The 1099-MISC form reports the total amount of payments you receive from a single person or entity during the year you've provided services to them.”

These 1099 MISC 4-part tax forms save you time since they’re bundled with everything you need to file your 1099s for 25 of your vendors, contractors, or suppliers. And, much like a full-size Kit Kat, this particular 1099 form comes with 4 parts. Give me a break of that sweet tax form.

          Candy Necklace

Remember candy necklaces? Of course you do. These little suckers tasted like sugary chalk dust and made your neck sticky for hours. All in all, terrible, but also a staple. Similarly, W3 transmittal tax forms.

“At the end of the year, employers use a W-3 to report the earnings, Medicare wages and Social Security wages of all their employees. This document gets sent to the Social Security Administration no later than February.”

Candy necklace not included. You’re welcome.

Want some more pairings? It might be a bit early for Valentines, but you can always give a gift.
